Focus & Interests
When I first set out on my journey in higher education, I wasn't sure what I wanted; all I knew was that I had a yearning for something more, and an insatiable curiosity for human disease and globalization. During that time, I discovered my passion for sustainability and biodiversity conservation- that's when I joined the sustainability committee as a student representative and founded Eco Club, a group that offered convenient ways for students to learn about and practice sustainability in everyday life. I was a member of Phi Theta Kappa, an honor society that I frequently fundraiser for.

Once I made my way to university, my focus shifted. While I was still just as curious about human evolution, I was more enthralled with the possibilities the future holds for our species. Enter: epigenetic medicine. I began studying genetic medicine whenever I could, taking courses that were as close to the newly emergent field as I could find them. During my two years at university, I studied under naturopathic and geriatric physicians, all of whom were happy to share their vast knowledge with me.

Today, my interest in evolutionary and epigenetic medicine has led me on an amazing journey to discover that our modern ways of life aren't all they seem- in fact, the paint on our white picket fences might be doing us and the environment more harm than good. Who knew? I'm here to find out how we can not only improve our quality of life and the environment around us but to nurture the long-lost symbiotic relationship humankind once shared with nature. I believe that healing takes place outside the clinic, whether we have the technology to observe it yet or not.
